Creative catwalk and Filmstudio

VillaPernilla  is part of a collective here in the local area, Högsby, that is called Höllywood Studios. We all work within various creative areas and come together when given a chance to make projects that try to put Högsby and Småland on the map.

Our latest project is an alternative model contest called Greta G. Greta Garbo's roots was from this area and there is even a Greta Garbo museum here. My job is to, apart from measuring and style the models to create a studio for the jury and a catwalk that has a Småland feeling. I have also been asked to recreate one of Garbo's film costumes. The aim of the project is to give young people that live in Småland  good role models and an opportunity to start daring to dream.

Yesterday I made connection with a local wood/furniture company that will sponsor us with furniture. They are called Lövsjö Loghouse and make rustic furniture using wood and timber from our local forrest here. Very happy to meet them and this evening they are coming down with a lorry full off furniture. Here are some photos and I will post some more photos of the studio one's we have got it all together.

National clothes swapping day, klädbytardagen

Getting ready for a day out!
Today was clothes swapping day here in Sweden. Organised by Naturskyddsföreningen. I managed to find a kid loppis (jumble sale style) and got some goodies. To get into the spirit of the day I got  Leon dressed up in an old shirt that used to belong to my sister from around  1965. It is a Finnish label called kii-kii. Tried google it to find out more about it but nothing matched it on the first few pages. . If you want to arrange your own swap day there are some websites around to look at. I found an old mumin troll book in very good conditon for 10 crowns and some summer t-shirts and Leon bought himself a Lego police motorbike that got covered in chocolate on the way home. Very pleased with the day. Then to top it off I finally managed to get the sign up that lets the rest of the world know where I am. It is not Google Earth or anything. It is an old fashioned road sign pointing to my studio. We got on our bikes while lighting the first barberque of the year and put the sign up.

Now visitors, deliveries and customers will find me more easily and maybe even the locals! Then Leon pointed out the moon as he always does and me and him tried to get it in a photo.

Wood & Wallpaper walk

Today we went for a walk and at the back of our house our neighbour got his garden/wood rubbish heap.
Once a year he sets it on fire and then starts all over again. Of course I had to have a peak when I saw new rubbish. There was these old layers of wallpaper with the different wallpaperdesigns. It looks beatiful  and I like the idea of seeing these different times laying there together.
I reminded me of all the wallpapers I have collected when doing up our house. I havent manged to throw them away but have collected them as a record to pass on. Our house was built 1910 so now it's 100 years old  and I think it would be a great idea to have a party for the house. Well any excuse for a party I think.

Wallpaper layers found on the heap.
More of the same.

Scraps of wallpaper found in our house.
After the walk I went inside and looked threw the wallpaper scraps I've collected. It would be great to have them reproduced or even better turn them into textil prints. Sometimes I amuse myself looking threw tapetorama webshop for similar type off wallpapers. They have a nice collection of old wallpapers.
